Fares

For pay a reduced fare, please complete an Elderly & Disabled Reduced Fare Application.

Trips within Geauga County can request an extra stop that takes no more than 5 minutes for a $1.00 fee.  Extra stops are only provided if time is available the driver’s route.

Personal Care Attendant (PCA) – Person designated or employed specifically to help the eligible individual meet his or her needs. PCA must be picked up and dropped off at the same location as eligible rider.

Companion – Person accompanying an eligible rider, other than PCA, and are picked up and dropped off at the same location as the eligible rider.

Elderly & Disabled (E&D) Transit Fare Assistance Program

Geauga Transit participates in the Elderly & Disabled (E&D) Program through Ohio Department of Transportation and the Federal Transit Administration.

The program permits Geauga Transit to offer half-price fares to eligible clients. Customers can apply for the program by completing this application and submit it with supporting documentation.

Eligibility & Documentation

  • Elderly:
    • Must be at least 65 years old.  Please provide a copy of one of the following documents: driver’s license, birth certificate, or state-issued ID card.
  • Disabled:
    • Must have mobility limitations or self-care limitations. Please provide a copy of one of the following documents: SSI award letter, SS Disability award letter or have a licensed physician, health care professional complete the statement of disability at the bottom of the application. (Valid for 2 years or duration of temporary disability)
